Abstract
Retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and
glaucoma, are leading causes of vision loss worldwide. Early detection and diagnosis are
crucial for preventing irreversible vision impairment. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged
as a promising tool for automating the identification and diagnosis of retinal diseases,
providing more accurate, timely, and accessible care. This paper explores the role of AI in the
early detection and diagnosis of retinal diseases, focusing on the application of deep learning
algorithms, image processing techniques, and machine learning models. The potential
benefits and challenges of incorporating AI into clinical practice, as well as its future
directions, are also discussed.
