Abstract

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), comprising Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, is a

chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that significantly affects patients’

quality of life. Early and accurate diagnosis, as well as effective management, are essential to

improving patient outcomes. Recently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a

transformative tool in the medical field, particularly in the context of diagnosing and

managing IBD. This paper explores the various applications of AI in IBD, focusing on

machine learning algorithms, predictive models, and data-driven insights in clinical practice.

It reviews recent studies on AI's role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy, monitoring disease

progression, and personalizing treatment plans for IBD patients. The paper concludes by

examining the potential future developments of AI in IBD care and the ethical implications

surrounding its use.
