Abstract

In recent years, the pervasive use of digital screens has raised concerns about the potential

effects of screen time on children's development. This paper examines the influence of screen

time on pediatric development, specifically focusing on cognitive, behavioral, and social

outcomes. Emerging evidence suggests that excessive screen time may contribute to

cognitive delays, altered behavior patterns, and social challenges. The implications of these

effects on child development are discussed, with a focus on the importance of balanced

screen use, appropriate content, and parental involvement in managing screen time. Future

research directions and recommendations for mitigating the negative impacts of screen time

are also presented.
