Abstract

Cosmetic dermatology has experienced a significant rise in popularity in recent years, driven

by advancements in aesthetic treatments, increased accessibility, and societal pressures for

beauty standards. This paper explores the ethical considerations surrounding cosmetic

dermatology and the impact of aesthetic procedures on patient outcomes. Ethical challenges

include the potential for body dysmorphic disorder, issues of informed consent, and the

influence of social media on self-image. Additionally, patient outcomes are examined from

both a psychological and physiological perspective, with a focus on long-term effects and

satisfaction. The study emphasizes the need for ethical guidelines, patient education, and a

holistic approach to patient care in the cosmetic dermatology field.
